Debuting in 2020, Jason Sudeikis, his moustache and his shortbread biscuits charmed audiences around the world, and soon AFC Richmond had become everyone’s favourite English Premier League soccer team.

The series was widely praised by critics for its performances (Jason, Hannah Waddingham, and Brett Goldstein all won Emmys, and both Phil Dunster and Juno Temple were nominated), as well as for its humour, writing, themes, and heartwarming tone.

Which is why the Season 3 finale was so bittersweet; it was supposed to mark the end of the series.

However, in March 2025, Apple confirmed Ted Lasso was getting a Season 4!

Who’s coming back for Season 4?

As mentioned above, Jason will return; he plays the titular character, duh!

It’s also been confirmed that Hannah Waddingham, Juno Temple, Brett Goldstein, Brendan Hunt, and Jeremy Swift will all reprise their respective roles in the fourth season.

Plus, there will be some new faces; Tanya Reynolds, Jude Mack, Faye Marsay, Rex Hayes, Aisling Sharkey, Abbie Hern, and Grant Feely have all officially joined the cast.

Why is Jamie Tartt not in Season 4?

There’s been no word on whether Phil Dunster – who portrayed the iconic Jamie Tartt in Seasons 1 to 3 – will be in Season 4.

At this stage, it’s unlikely Phil will return due to scheduling conflicts; the actor is currently committed to two other series, The Devil’s Hour and Surface.
