Fan-favourite Farmer Wants A Wife stars Brad Jones and Clare Hockings (from the 2023 season) are officially engaged!
As first reported by New Idea, Brad popped the question on Clare’s 30th birthday.
Sadly, on the day, it was pouring rain so Brad had to change his initial plans and ended up proposing in the comfort of his and Clare’s own home.
He also feigned knee pain so she’d be truly surprised.
“I’ve got bad knees, I’ve had three knee reconstructions, so what I’ve done is pretend I’ve injured my knee and carried on a bit,” Brad told New Idea.
“I came inside from getting Clare’s present out of the car and came back up the stairs into the house, and made a bit of a scene. I fell down holding my knee and saying, ‘Oh, I’ve buggered my knee,’” he continued.
“Then Clare came round and said, ‘What’s wrong?’, and I said, ‘Oh, I’m no good!’, and she went to help me up, and that’s when I got on one knee and pulled the ring out!”
So, when are Brad and Clare getting married?
Not for a little while…
“We haven’t had a moment to think about a wedding yet, with baby number two due in the next few weeks,” Clare told Yahoo Lifestyle.
“The idea of planning a wedding is quite overwhelming, too, so I think we’ll just enjoy being engaged for a while.”
Brad and Clare obviously met and fell in love while filming the 2023 season of Farmer Wants A Wife.
In June 2023, a few weeks after their season had aired in its entirety, the couple announced they were expecting.
Then, in December 2023, Brad and Clare welcomed their first child: a baby boy named Roy Grahame Jones.
And during a brief appearance on this year’s season of Farmer Wants A Wife, Brad and Clare shared they were expecting their second child together.
