Robert Irwin, the wildlife conservationist and son of the late Steve Irwin, has often made headlines for his dedication to animal welfare and public life.
Yet, his dating history has also attracted interest, with the 21-year-old has opened up about his love life and future relationship goals.
Who is Robert Irwin dating?
Speaking to People in April 2025, Robert confirmed that he was currently single.
“I’m single. It’s funny, I’m at this point in my life where I’m like, I’m so open to that, but I’m just waiting for the stars to align,” he shared.
Despite not being in a relationship, the wildlife warrior revealed that he has an inkling of where he will meet his partner.
“Interestingly, my parents, my sister Bindi, met her husband [Chandler Powell]. Everyone met here at our wildlife sanctuary,” said Robert, adding that his parents, Terri and Steve Irwin, also met when he was visiting the zoo.
“I look at the couple goals in my life. I look at when my brother-in-law Chandler and my sister Bindi met, it was just meant to be, and when my mum and dad met, it was this crazy serendipitous, amazing moment that just was a fluke.”
“In both instances, there were American tourists that were coming over and visiting the zoo, so I’m waiting. I’m waiting for that American tourist to come into the zoo and for it all to happen!”
He spoke to People magazine again in September 2025, saying he’s just waiting for his American love story.
“I’ve been saying, when is that going to happen for me?!” he shared.
Prior to confirming his relationship status, sources speaking to Woman’s Day reported that Robert had been secretly seeing someone.
“The whispers at the Australia Zoo is that Robert has been seeing a new love interest since around November. I’d say that Robert will be planning on hard-launching this relationship in the next few weeks prior to I’m a Celebrity.”
Although he did not address the rumours, speculation surrounding his relationship comes just over six months after the I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! host was linked to fellow Australia Zoo staff member Charlotte Briggs.
While the pair did not make any comments on the speculation, photographs obtained by the Daily Mail in July 2024 showed the pair walking through Sydney Airport alongside Robert’s mother, Terri, before being later spotted sharing a “flirty display” in their hotel lobby.
Is Robert Irwin dating Witney Carson?
No, currently the pair are partnered together on Dancing With The Stars US.
Witney jokingly asked prospective women to contact her via social media so that she could discuss with Bindi whether the suitors were right for Robert.
“You have to kind of go through a screening process, so submit your applications through my DMs , and then I will forward them to Bindi, and then we will see about the American tourist,” Witney said.

Announcing their split in February 2024, Robert Irwin and his former girlfriend Rorie Buckey released a joint statement confirming they had split after 18 months together.
“We wanted to share that we have decided to go our separate ways but profoundly appreciate all of the time spent together and wish one another the very best into the future,” Robert wrote to Instagram.
“We wish to express the gratitude and respect we have for one another as we continue our journeys on different paths.”

No, they are not. Rumours started swirling that the pair were dating after an AI photo went viral, which showed the pair embracing.
Daily Mail Australia reported that fans were handwriting letters and love notes to Australia Zoo, showing their support for the fake relationship.
“Sources close to the Irwin family say the volume of mail has noticeably increased in recent days, with many notes coming from fans within the LGBTQI+ community who have long embraced Robert, 21, as a heartthrob and ally,” Daily Mail wrote.
