Florence Pugh is single-handedly saving Hollywood and we’re loving every minute of it. As many of us continue to fall head over heels for the actress, the question on everyone’s lips is… who is she dating? AKA, do we have a chance?
Despite the We Live in Time star focusing on “getting into the groove” of her career, as per Harper’s BAZAAR, the rumour mill is still spinning into overdrive every time Miss Flo is spotted with someone new.
Who is Florence Pugh dating?
Although she hasn’t explicitly confirmed who she is currently dating, Florence has most recently been linked to Peaky Blinders star Finn Cole.
On September 4, The Sun were the first to connect the pair after they were spotted leaving the Perfect Couple London premiere after-party, with a guest telling the Daily Mail, “I saw them holding hands at the after-party at The Hoxton Hotel.”
In late December the couple were spotted walking the actress’ pet dog Billie in London.
Earlier in the year, the duo were also photographed by friends attending the 2024 Glastonbury Festival, leading many fans to believe the rumoured couple have been an item since at least July 2024.
Following her split with Zach Braff in 2022, Florence has kept her love life largely out of the spotlight, however, in September 2024, she confirmed to British Vogue that she was seeing someone.
“We are trying to figure out what we are actually are… I’m allowing myself to take time to let something evolve and let it be completely real to its core, as opposed to racing into that,” she shared.
“Falling is the most amazing feeling but unfortunately, if that’s the only thing that you know in a relationship, then that’s the thing that you chase. That’s not gonna last.”
Opening up further on her recent relationship history, Florence revealed to The Times in December 2024 that she had re-entered the dating scene following her split from Zach.
“When I finished filming [We Live in Time], my life changed. Relationships came and went, and I had this opportunity to look at my life away from my work and I realised, ‘Okay, I need to wake the f*** up.”
“I had to look away from my career… That’s been my focus for 10 years, but I want to make sure that the things I need to do, whether children, family, change, change in relationships… Well, I realised I need to make changes now,” she continued.
Who has Florence Pugh dated?
Zach Braff (2019 – 2022)
Since making it big in 2016 with her role in the independent drama Lady Macbeth, Florence’s only high-profile relationship has been with former Scrubs icon Zach Braff. So how did they meet, and why did it end?
The pair first crossed paths in 2018, when Zach tweeted about her role in the Shakespeare adaptation Lady Macbeth – calling her “a movie star.”
Florence then starred in his short film In the Time It Takes to Get There, which was released in April 2019. That same month, the pair were seen strolling hand-in-hand in New York City and the rumour mill began to run.
With Zach posting photos in Florence’s hometown of Oxford back in January 2019, fans believe they began dating well before they were first photographed together.
After inspiring plenty of dating rumours, the pair finally went public in December 2019 and immediately faced controversy over their not-insignificant age gap – 21 years to be exact.
Florence defended their love, telling Elle UK in June 2020: “I have the right to hang out and be with and go out with anyone I want to.”
“I know that part of being in the spotlight is that people might invade your privacy and have opinions on it, but it’s bizarre that normal folk are allowed to display such hate and opinions on a part of my life that I’m not putting out there.”
The couple moved in together during the COVID-19 Lockdown in 2020, further cementing their relationship status by adopting a dog together.
During that time, Zach also wrote the script for a film called A Good Person. When the film was ready to begin production, Florence stepped into the leading role, starring opposite Morgan Freeman.
By the time the movie premiered, the couple had gone their separate ways. Though, they have nothing but respect for one another.
“Florence’s performance in the movie, I know I’m biased, but it’s the most miraculous thing you will ever see,” Zach said to Collider.
“I’m not overselling it … I know that anything Florence does is incredible. People say she’s maybe the best actress of her generation. I think she’s one of the best actresses working. This performance she gives is unbelievable.”
Of their amicable split, Florence revealed they had quietly “consciously uncoupled” for a reason.
“We’ve been trying to do this separation without the world knowing, because it’s been a relationship that everybody has an opinion on,” the Little Women star told Harper’s BAZAAR in August 2022.
“We just felt something like this would really do us the benefit of not having millions of people telling us how happy they are that we’re not together. So we’ve done that. I automatically get a lumpy throat when I talk about it.”
Two years after her split from the Scrubs star, Florence reflected on the publicity surrounding her relationship, telling British Vogue, “Mine and Zach’s relationship was actually quite private until it was nasty, and I could see the toll it was taking on him and us and our families.”
“It’s not nice knowing that people are saying the worst things I’ve ever read about someone that I love, so that was necessary. I needed to talk about it. I think any relationship in this limelight is going to be stressed.”
Charlie Gooch (2022)
In early 2023, Florence sparked fresh dating rumours after being spotted with an unfamiliar face on Valentine’s Day.
Deux Moi reported that she and Charlie Gooch were spotted in London after previously being spotted together in December 2022.
Florence and Charlie, who went to the same high school, were photographed holding hands and enjoying a glass of wine together during their Valentine’s Day date. However, neither party have commented on their relationship.
Will Poulter (2021)
In early 2021, there was speculation of a romance between Florence and her former Midsommar co-star Will Poulter after they (checks notes) went to the beach together.
Never mind that they were on a holiday in Ibiza with a group of friends and their day by the sea was totally platonic, photos of the duo splashing around made headlines anyway and Flo was forced to address the romance claims on Instagram.
“This is getting a little silly now,” she wrote over a black screen on her Instagram Stories. “No, Will Poulter and I are not dating. We went to the beach with our friends, who are always about half a metre away from us in every picture, but have been clearly cut out/framed out so that it looks otherwise.”
She pointed out that one of her other male friend’s arms is visible in half of the paparazzi snaps and added that while she understands being a movie star means losing some privacy, “to fabricate stuff like this actually does more damage than good”.
Flo also appeared to defend her relationship with Zach Braff on social media, as fans were celebrating over the idea that she had dumped Zach for Will.
“There’s no need to drag people through this. Regardless of your opinion on who I should or shouldn’t be with, at the end of the day if you’re complimenting someone by trolling another person… you’re just bullying,” she wrote.
“There’s literally no need to be horrible online – no need. Think about what you write. Think about who it affects.”
Harry Styles (2020)
The actress was briefly linked to her Don’t Worry Darling co-star Harry Styles. Ahh yes, the Harry + Florence + Olivia Wilde chaos that just wouldn’t let up.
It was Olivia and Jason Sudeikis’ ex-nanny who claimed Florence and Harry had once been a couple. The claims would have tied Florence to Harry in 2020 when she was still in a committed relationship with Zach.
Olivia and Jason jointly denied their former staffer’s allegations, which included claims Florence and Harry had a brief fling before he began dating Olivia.
