The wait is *almost* over! Beau Ryan will be back for his sixth season hosting The Amazing Race Australia Celebrity Edition 2025.
This season, 13 teams set out on the ultimate race across Asia in a bid to win $100,000 for their chosen cause.
Read on to hear what Beau said about the supposed ‘best season’ yet of The Amazing Race Australia…

How the contestants stack up this year
“We’re blessed this season,” he tells WHO. “We have a lot of people who are naturally entertaining – they don’t even have to try. [Social media siblings] Luke and Sassy Scott are both stars. Brendan Fevola is a walking headline – he just keeps giving.”

“But I really enjoyed watching Rob Mills and Georgie Tunny. It’s always hard for people to do it as a couple, because you’re exposing everything about yourself all day, every day, and you’re put in positions that are meant to break you, mentally and physically. [So] I’ve always had respect for that.”

Getting to travel
Another thing Beau, who released cookbook Beau’s Kitchen in 2020, loves about The Amazing Race Australia is getting to sample cuisine from different countries. So how does the food stack up this season?
“I have a soft spot for Uzbekistan. Nepal was great, too,” he reveals. “I like to try different things, and that’s literally the first question my wife asks me when I’m overseas: ‘What foods have you eaten today? Send me a photo.’”

Despite his jetsetting lifestyle, Beau’s heart and tastebuds never seem to stray too far from home. He fondly recalls the places in his hometown of Sydney’s Albion Park that hold special meaning for him.
“Macquarie Pass, where I used to go with my dad, and there’s, like, this creek that goes up to the mountain with a waterfall – very special,” he says. “And the Vietnamese bakery there. I used to save up for a pork roll.”
Who he would team up with
When asked who he would partner with if he were to be a contestant himself, Beau doesn’t hesitate.
“To take my wife would be great – to spend time with her – but I know that we would clash,” he admits. “In terms of a celebrity, I’d probably take Jonathan LaPaglia.”

How production handled the unexpected
As for the disqualification of SAS Australia’s Ant Middleton and his brother Dan – which occurs early in the season after Dan allegedly made critical remarks about Luke and Sassy Scott on a day off from shooting that a Network 10 spokesperson confirmed was a “breach of the production’s code of conduct” – Beau credits the production team with handling it with care.

“I think it’s been handled well … So much is happening in the show because there are so many teams, so post-production did a great job to show the exit without affecting too much of the show,” he reveals.
“[I] never like losing teams … And even though that happened, it’s still one of the best, if not the best season I’ve ever made.”
The Amazing Race Australia: Celebrity Edition Premieres Monday, 8 September On 10.
